Treat Your Flu at Home

Flu symptoms can cause a world of misery, from fever and cough to sore throat, nasal congestion, aches, and chills but there are ways to feel better. Here are the different home remedies for flu:

1. Stay Hydrated

We all know that water is a necessary for our bodies, but that is never more important than when you have the flu. Making sure you stay hydrated will help deal with some of the congestion that you’re likely dealing with.

2. Keep Your Nutrient (and Energy) Levels Up

Not only do you need to keep your water intake up, but you’ll also want to make sure you’re still getting the nutrients that your body needs so much. This means eating a diet full of dark, leafy greens like spinach, broccoli and more.

3. Warm Bath

Warm bath reduces flu symptoms. To deal with body aches, add baking soda to your bath. You could also add essential oils like eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender or thyme for increased benefits.

4. Soups

Soups are nutritious and delicious options to ward off flu symptoms. They soothe the upper respiratory tract and ease breathing. Good choices would be dal soup, Tulsi shorba, and mixed vegetable soup. 5. Garlic Honey on a Spoon

This is simple. Here are the steps you can follow.

  1. Crush half of a clove of garlic into a spoon.
  2. Add some natural honey along with half a teaspoon of lemon juice.

This will help boost the immune system. You can take this once or twice a day.

6. Ginger Honey Tea

It is a great way to boost your immune system, the ginger and the honey is amazing. The honey act as a natural antibiotic and the ginger helps with pain and inflammation. You can use a cup of the ginger root pealing the skin off and cutting it into little cubes, once that is done you can peal one or two lemons depending on the size and keep it aside. Then add the lemon and the ginger along with a table spoon of honey into pot along with three to four cups of water. Heat it on a stove top for thirty minutes.You can drink twice daily.

7. Natural Cough Syrup

This one is very simple it only has a few ingredients. The ingredient are lemons, natural honey, cold pressed natural coconut oil and keyan pepper (optional). You can add one and a half cup of honey, half a cup of coconut oil along with two to three table spoon of lemon juice into a pot and heat it, keeping in mind that you don’t want to boil it rather than just mixing the ingredients together and you will notice that the consistency will change, and it will be combined. Pour it in a jar and if you want to add the keyan pepper you can add it at this point. Hence it is ready for use.
